Whats that Buzzing Sound?

So I’ve wanted to write this for a while. It’s weird, I had this thought days ago but I felt I was writing too much and decided I’d not write it. That was the Enemy, and in the name of Jesus I ask God to rebuke him.

Have you ever gotten in your car and hear a strange buzzing sound? A few days ago got in my car after work and there was a decent size fly in the back of my car. I watched him fly around trying to escape through my back window, knowing that he’ll never make it through. I thought to myself, “Poor fly, let me help him out!” So I opened the window that he was closest to in the back to let him fly out of it. He flew to the other side of the back and didn’t even go close to the window. I thought, “The window must have startled him.” So my next step was to roll down my other back window. He moved now to the middle of the back window and chose not to fly out the open windows. At this point I thought it funny that there are two very easy ways for him to go and he still chose the one that was never going to work. I then swatted toward him with my hand and he decided to go out one of the windows!

I normally would have just shrugged it off, but God had a different plan. He said, “Bryan, that fly is an example of you and how you walk your Christian walk.” I was puzzled! God said that I was the fly. I realized what he was saying is that there are times where I try and walk this walk and try and “escape” my sin but there is just something I can’t see blocking me. That blocker can be my pride, my lust, or many other things. God sometimes gives me one or two easy options to get around these blockers and to escape my sin. Yet, I chose to continue flying toward my sin “window.” In some cases it’s when God has to literally scare me for my life that I pay attention and escape his way instead of mine. God reminded me of Proverbs 3:5-6.

“5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

God said, “Bryan I need you to trust me in faith, sometimes without you understanding what I’m asking. You need to trust that I’ve cleared the path and made a way, and that I’m doing what’s best for you!”

Father thank you for this revelation, I pray God that I can walk this the way that you have for me!

My question is simple, Are you like the fly in the story?

Has God given you a way to make it out?

Are you trying to fly through your own back window, and not out the easily seen open side windows?

God I pray that you can move the hearts of your children so that we seek your clear still voice, so that we can walk in your ways! I love you Yahweh!

Be blessed!

Excuse Me! I Have A Question!

I got the idea to write this blog after i started a long list of Facebook notes over the years! So to motivate ya a little, i decided I'd give you something older. The beauty of it is that i just reread this today and God used it to re inspire me! God is So Awesome.

So I sit here tonight and thought to myself... God why haven't I been able to write one of these notes through your Holy Spirit in a long time. He made the answer very clear to me...."Bryan why haven't you asked?" I felt dumb as I sat on my couch. All I had to do was ask. Next he said, "You see my son, when you ask I’ve promised that you'll receive!" That's right if YOU ASK for God and creator says YOU RECEIVE! I'm sorry. Need proof!!

Matthew7:7-8
"7Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

Matthew 21:21-22
21Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done. 22If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."

John 16:23 -24
"23In that day you will no longer ask me anything. I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. 24Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete."

James 1:5-6
"5If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind."

Is that good enough? You want to know why I am where I’m at? Cause somewhere along the way God showed me that I needed to ask what his heart desired. So many times as believers we think that God won't give us what we ask for! I say this, When you surrender your life to God, you only ask for his blessings. How would a good Christian woman who draws you closer to the father not a blessing. How do you get over drugs, drinking, sex, bad finances....YOU ASK GOD TO TAKE THEM FROM YOUR LIFE. See here is the thing I’m relearning as I walk with the father, we have the free will to surrender our free will! Sounds crazy, but it could quite possibly be the best thing you ever do. Another thing is this, when you surrender your will to the father, he will give you blessings that far exceed anything that you could ever institute!

But what does surrender have to do with asking or receiving. In God's kingdom....IT HAS EVERYTHING TO DO. See I’ve heard it time and time again that "God is not vending machine!" but can I change the thoughts on this? If a fully surrendered man to God asked God for anything, why wouldn't God give it to him? If you read the first verse I gave you in Matthew (7:7-8) if you read farther it finishes this thought for me. '

9"Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!" Matthew 7:9-11

you see? God wants us to have blessings, but sometimes we never get them because we never ask! Look again at the second verse above! (Matthew 21:21-22) If we ask of the father in faith, he will give....one more time for you....HE WILL GIVE!! This is huge, no? See what the Devil wants us to think is that we don't get earthly blessings....only blessings in heaven. This is a twist of the truth, now am I saying that God will make everyone wealthy, NO! I’m saying that God wants to bless us here on earth as well. Jesus prays the OUR FATHER and in it he says "Thy Kingdom Come Thy Will Be Done, ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN."

Bryan this isn't true, you say? Let me give you a few personal examples! First, this note is one! I asked to write something to Glorify his name, and this flowed out of me! Second, I asked that God would give me a plan and purpose to this life even when I wasn't worthy. I can tell you brothers and sisters, that he has given me. Lastly, I ask to simply find a woman of Christ's love that pushes and spurs me toward God's love more and more. God brought more than one, but he did bring me a special one, the wait may have been long, but he has fulfilled his answer as well!

I don't care if you don't feel worthy, don't know how it all works, don't know what it looks like, and can’t imagine ever getting anything from the father. Do you not know that the faith to simply say, “God I know you have a plan for me, one that far exceeds my understanding, one that I may not know now, but I promise to rest in your plan and love if you assure I have that I have all of that." well when God's word is a lamp unto your feet, and a light unto your path, you should know that a plan has been assured for you. God even says that he knew your plan before he created you! So I ask of anyone tonight who doubts, anyone who is not sure if Jesus has a plan, anyone who wants the assurance of not just life eternal but a great life on this earth.... I simply ask that right where you are, after you read this, doesn't matter where you are, cry out to him. Lay into the Spirit of the Lord and ask him to make its presence know in your heart!

God I ASK that this reaches the hearts of the righteous, the hearts of the deceived, and the hearts of the lost and draws them nearer to your love, mercy, and your grace! I thank you Jesus for the assurance that this prayer has already been answered for me!

Walking in his ways,
Bryan

The Power of His Love

God has blessed me to work at Yes Fm here in Toledo, and yesterday I worked an event in Westminster, OH. There was free music, fellowship, and free food; but that’s not what moved me. Around 830 pm yesterday evening it started to pour down rain and the second band wasn’t able to play. I had started packing my Yes Fm gear when I started to notice something happening all around me. There was a brilliance in the sky because of the lightning that was occurring. Now most of you would think I’m nuts because I was putting away a metal tent when I stopped to look at the beauty of it all. I heard some people playing in the rain, but I heard a lot of people taking cover and some were even scared by the sound and feeling of everything that was going on.
I got in my car to start the trip home and I could barely see the road. By the grace of God I got to a gas station and waited for the rain to slow. The whole rest of the trip, there was no rain, but the lightning running across the sky was just blowing my mind. I started to think that if some of my friends were in the car with me, with or without rain, they would be terrified simply because of the power of the lighting and the sound of the thunder. This reminded me of a few passages.
1 "At this my heart pounds and leaps from its place. 2 Listen! Listen to the roar of his voice, to the rumbling that comes from his mouth. 3 He unleashes his lightning beneath the whole heaven and sends it to the ends of the earth.4 After that comes the sound of his roar; he thunders with his majestic voice. When his voice resounds, he holds nothing back. 5 God's voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding. 6 He says to the snow, 'Fall on the earth,' and to the rain shower, 'Be a mighty downpour.' JOB 37:1-6
2At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it. 3And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian. A rainbow, resembling an emerald, encircled the throne. 4Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty-four elders. They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their heads. 5From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder. Before the throne, seven lamps were blazing. These are the seven spirits of God. 6Also before the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal .REVELATION 4:2-5
I began to think, “if these small earthly storm strike fear in people, how much more awesome would it be to see God for real?” Think about it, all the people in the bible that had visions of God on his Throne are said to fall to the ground as if they were dead. However, God spares their life and lets them see the vision. This is the sovereign God we serve. This is God, mighty and true. Faithful till the end. This helps bring to full circle the meaning of what Paul says in chapter 8 of Romans:
31What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Who can be against us? Remember, Jesus died and rose that we may come to know His Father, and to have a relationship with him! It’s because of the cross we even have an option to praise God and for Him to be pleased by it!
Father, I pray that we have a hunger to know more about you, and to go deeper with everything that we do with you. God you are awesome and mighty. Thank you for your patience and your grace. Without it, I’d be dead and lost. Help us to seek you and give us more faith to walk in your ways. We love you Father. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen
Be blessed
Bryan

Some Things I Learned

For those of you who don’t know, I went to Ohio Youth Ministries AG Junior High youth camp last week. Today I want to share with you a few things I learned along the week!

1. God is so much bigger than me

a. I was in charge of leading a group of nine junior high boys in a small group for the week. In my group there were several students that were there just because somebody made them come. After hearing the first sermon of the week four of the guys in my room made a first time commitment to the Lord and decided they wanted to fully follow after Christ. In the same night two others rededicated their lives! All I did was allowed them the opportunity for it to happen.

2. An encouraging word goes a lot farther than you think

a. I did a night with my small group where we went around and everybody had to encourage everyone else. This went twenty times better than I expected. In these words of affirmation I watched guys be lifted so high that some were set free from the lies that the Enemy threw at them.

b. I had a time where I was able to speak I front of some junior high girls. God used me to tell them some likes that they believe and to tell them a few truths that they needed to see. I told them that God loves them just the way they are, they are the righteous daughters of that same living God, and that no matter what anyone says….they are beautiful. Again the Holy Spirit broke lies and chains of bondage off these girls!

3. My drive to be in the presence of the Lord needs to be stepped up

a. I heard a story of a girl who sold her grandma’s old tootsie pops to get donations to come to youth camp. She came because she knew that Christ was going to move big through this camp, and because she believed that, people donated enough money through her sales that she was able to come!

b. Another girl worked as a waitress at a banquet her church had. People at her church gave her tip money and by the end of the banquet she had enough funds to come to camp! She said last year she had experienced God like never before, and she wanted to come back this year!

Now I know there are more things to tell you, but take this and chew on it for a little bit! God is so awesome and I love those kids so much it’s like they are family. God wants to do amazing thing through us and what I found out is he it just looking for somebody to show up! Love you all and God bless!

What Up

Have you ever seen someone who says they are a follower of Christ, but don't really live it out? It could be your family members, your friends, or even the youth kid that you lead at youth group. Maybe that person I just described is you! Are you tired of seeing this happen? I know that I want to live all that I can for the Lord. This Blog is not going to point fingers at those people. My intent and hope is to spur other Brothers and Sisters in our Lord Jesus to live there life for Christ more than on Sundays. I'm approaching this like Ephesians 4:29.

"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
"

This Blog will also focus on interacting with the youth of our generation and to inspire them more than a once a week basis. My personal stories and things that will be discussed will be a reflection on how God inspires me through hanging out with the youth of my church, on the bible studies I go to, and also some spiritual food for thought. I hope and pray that this blesses and encourages you to continue seeking the Lord and to live the Christian walk more than a Sunday.
